Stag & Doe DJ

Stag & doe nights that actually clear their target.

Games announced on time, a room that stays full, and music that works for a hall holding your friends, your parents and your entire hockey team. Hamilton and Southern Ontario.

A stag & doe has one job: make money

Everything else, the music, the games, the announcements, is in service of keeping people in the room, near the bar, and buying tickets. That’s a different job from a wedding reception, and it gets run differently.

We keep the energy up from the moment the doors open, so the hall never has that dead first hour where forty people stand around a half-empty room deciding whether to stay.

We run the games, not just the music

Toonie toss, bottle walk, loonie table, heads or tails, the money wheel, the raffle draws. Somebody has to announce them, count them down, and pull people off the dance floor at the right moment without killing the room. That’s the MC job, and it’s the difference between a fundraiser that clears its target and one that doesn’t.

Bring your own game list or use ours. Either way, we’ll sit down beforehand and time the draws so they land when the room is fullest.

Loud enough for a hall, clean enough to hear the draw

Legion halls, banquet rooms, community centres, curling clubs. We’ve worked most of them around Hamilton and Haldimand, and we size the system to the room. Wireless microphones mean the announcements cut through cleanly even when the floor is packed.

Music for a mixed room

Stag & does draw a wider crowd than a wedding: the couple’s friends, both sets of parents, coworkers, hockey teams, neighbours. The set has to swing between country, classic rock, party anthems and current Top 40 without losing anybody. That’s exactly what a 70-year library is for.

Priced for a fundraiser

We know what this event is. The whole point is to come out ahead, so we quote stag & does accordingly and tell you the number up front. We bring the bang without breaking the bank.

FAQ

Questions about stag & doe

Do you help run the games and draws?

Yes. Announcing and timing the games is part of the job. Toonie toss, bottle walk, loonie table, heads or tails, prize draws: we’ll go through your list beforehand and schedule them for when the room is at its fullest.

How early do you set up?

We load in and sound check well before doors, so the room is ready and playing music when your first ticket-holders walk in. A dead room in the first hour costs you money.

Can you work in a hall with its own sound system?

We can tie into a house system where it makes sense, but we bring our own regardless. House systems in older halls are unpredictable and we’d rather not find that out at 7pm.

What does a stag & doe cost?

Less than a wedding. It’s a shorter night with a simpler setup, and we know the whole point of the event is to come out ahead. Call with your date, your hall and your rough guest count and we’ll give you one number.

Do you do Jack & Jills and buck-and-does too?

Same event, different name, same answer. Yes.

Let’s check your date.

Tell us the date, the venue and the vibe. We’ll come back with a straight answer and a straight price. No pressure, no packages you don’t need.
